As your host, iI absolutely love animals. So I’d be delighted if you brought your pet along. Whether you’re coming with your dog, cat, chicken. parrot or hamsters, nothing is too much trouble. Our holiday cottages have been carefully furnished to ensure your pet feels right at home too. Our most loyal guest is Milo; he comes on holiday to BoksheideBuiten at least twice a year. Our holiday cottages are pet-friendly and have a Peggy peg, two food bowls, two towels and biodegradable dog waste bags available for use outside.

There is a brain-teaser cube in every holiday cottage, in which you can hide treats for your dog. Suze & Fred Steenbergen from 5050shop are the creative minds behind the design and have created this cube especially for BoksheideBuiten. They have been committed to various animal charities for years; the cube is made largely from recycled materials. And the proceeds are donated to organisations including Ani-kos.

Within walking distance lies the Run river, which you can walk along together for a short stroll: go trough the wide gate, turn right and a little further on turn left, follow this path for about 400 meters until you reach the Run. On the left and right you’ll see a wooden gate that you can go through to walk along the green corridor.
Cyour super-obedient dog is bursting with positive energy, the Natuurpoort Eersel/terSpegelt off-leash area is the ideal solution. The walk of around 3 kilometers is clearly signposted with green off-leash signs through a lovely stretch of woodland. At the start and end, your dog must be kept on a lead until you reach the actual off-leash area. At the start of the route, there is a drinking water tap where you can fill your Aquadog water bottle for the walk.
On Witrijt, near Postelseweg/Kolonie, there is fully fenced-off dog walking area on the right-hand side, marked out chestnut posts. The winding walk forms a loop that you can walk either clockwise or anti-clockwise. It is a well-maintained area with a footpath and a bench where owners can have a chat whilst the dogs play. When the grass is long, it is important to check both your dog and yourself for ticks.

Of course, you’ll want to bring your dog along when you go out for a meal, and i can highly recommend several restaurants. After the fenced off dog-walking area, drive a little further to Herberg in het wilde zwijn, where dogs are welcome! Wendy & Jolijn are the proud owners of Herberg de Negende Zaeligheyt, and their dishes are prepared using local produce wherever possible. Every week there’s Jolijn’s TIP, a surprising creation of a delicious dish or a new drink. At de Keizer eten &drinken, you can join us at a table on the terrace, on the veranda or in the conservatory, wearing your walking shoes and with your dog by your side.
“Can Bounty and Aardappel come out of the horse trailer too?” ask Isabella and her sister Louise, who have travelled all the way from Zeeland. Of course I say yes, the chickens are welcome to go outside and scratch around in the grass. They’ll be lovingly looked after here for a whole week. After all, for them it’s just a holiday too. And then there was that other special request… whether I’d let a parrot sit on my shoulder and dare to feed it sunflower seeds. What a wonderful, unforgettable experience, that sort that stay with us. Even two hamsters have stayed here before and clearly enjoyed their own little holiday in our cottage.
