Visiting us.

Friend Annelies is passing trough on her way to het holiday home and makes a stopover with us to be together briefly.

The weather is beautyful and the prunuses are in lush pink and white bloom, green leaves in many shades on various trees and the meadows look fresh. A great time to get out of our comfort zone and we decide to go for a walk in the woods with Navida 🐴 & Floris 🐴!

Who do you want to walk with Annelies?

With the pony coming towards me she indicates, we grab their halters with long lead ropes attached and solid brass clips because safety is paramount, we walk to the meadow where the ponies are grazing nicely. Curious as he is, Floris comes walking at his leisure and some time later Navida, the halters are put on, in our sturdy walking shoes 🥾 🥾we leave.

Up the street.

Navida with me in front, Annelies follows with Floris. As we leave the gate, Annelies senses by the tension of the rope that there is a change in Floris. His head goes up proudly and his neck stands perky…he finds it very exiting and his little ears flash from the front to back and to the side. The cars, road and the grass tiles along the tarmac make a sound which is new to Floris. It’s a bit scary for him, tough.

Into the forest.

Once we arrive in the forest 🌲we take a short break to evaluate. Floris starts to relax, nibbling on pine branches and eating from old leaves. A spot of blueberry bushes, that’s what Floris finds.

Arriving at the moors, Floris seems to get a prairie feel and wants to run around like s Przewalski horse and we decide to walk the nice big lap along the moors. Putting Floris at ease is a challenge though with all those stimuli 🙃.
